Head of Nubian Association for Human Rights and member of following Nubian file committee in Aswan, Hani Youssef announced Nubians will not continue boycotting parliamentary elections. Nubians boycotted the election because they demanded to separate Nubia's electoral region away from Kom Ombo electoral region in order to give Nubian candidates take chance in the parliamentary elections in Egypt. Youssef said the committee decided to participate in the parliamentary elections. However, Nubian activists disagreed about running for elections or boycotting it. The committee therefore decided to exempt Nubian candidates from the boycotting decision. “Egyptiam Prime Minister Essam Sharaf promised to discuss our demands with Egyptian Minister of Interior Mansour al-Essawi. However he failed to fulfill his promise to us,” Youssef said.
