Two Egyptians have died as a result of malaria, contracted in Sudan. Dr Ahmed Ragab, head deputy of the Nile sector, died on Wednesday after struggling with Malaria, which he contracted in an official visit to Sudan in September. Official resources in the Ministry of Water and Irrigation confirmed that Ragab died of malaria. He was part of the minister's delegation to Sudan last month to inspect the ministry's projects in South Sudan. The Minister of Irrigation asked all delegation members to be examined, especially after the death of journalist Khaled Abdel Hady, who worked for Masreya newspaper and also died of malaria. Hady did not suffer from any symptoms until a sudden fever on Wednesday. After a medical checkup, he discovered he also had contracted malaria.
