New Russian ambassador arrives in Cairo

CAIRO: The new Russian ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kerbachenko arrived at Cairo International Airport yesterday to take up his new position both at the Russian embassy and as the Russian representative at the Arab League.
Kerbachenko takes over the job from former ambassador Mikhail Bogdanov, who was appointed Deputy Russian Foreign Minister and personal envoy for Russian President Dimitry Medvedev.
The new ambassador has held many posts, including former ambassador to Damascus.
