Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his gratitude Thursday to Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's ruling military council, for his help in arranging a Palestinian-Israeli prisoner swap. Captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit will be released in return for the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners. Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth published online yesterday that Netanyahu appreciated the great role played the Egyptians to reach this agreement. The newspaper reported Netanyahu as saying to the Egyptian officials, "Your help inserted joy in the hearts of the Israeli people."
