Eighteen Egyptian fishermen were detained in Misrata after they entered Libyan territorial waters, said the official spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amr Roushdi. According to Roushdi, the fishermen are set to arrive at Sallum Sunday night, after they finished repatriation procedures at the Egyptian embassy in Libya under the supervision of the Egyptian consul, Ashraf Sheeha. Roushi said that Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr was keen to have the detained fishermen released during his meeting with the head of the executive office of the Libyan transitional government weeks ago. Roushdi said this is not the first time that the Egyptian consulate in Libya has arranged for the return of Egyptian fishermen detained in Libya.
