Prosecutors submitted new evidence against defendants in the Battle of the Camel case Saturday, as clashes erupted outside the New Cairo Criminal Court hosting the trial. The Battle of the Camel refers to Feb. 2 and 3, when Mubarak supporters attacked demonstrators in Tahrir Square. Twenty-five were accused of involvement, but former member of the People's Assembly Abdel Nasser el-Gabry died from cancer, bringing the number of defendants to 24. Protestors' lawyers announced they would submit court material to the presiding judge, Hassan Abdallah, during Saturday's hearing. The material includes compact discs with new evidence of the involvement of some of the defendants. Prosecutors also requested that the submitted material include evidence that directly implicate Ahmed Fadaly, the president of the Assembly of Muslim Youth, in the Battle of the Camel A video taken by a Mubarak supporter shows Fadaly on the 6 October Bridge and in Abdel Moneim Reyad Square. Fadaly is seen smoking cigarettes and talking to a Mubarak supporter. The video was presented during ON TV channel's program, “Akher Kalam,” hosted by the broadcaster Yusri Fouda. The Court will hear testimony from the defense's witnesses during Saturday's hearing. Security forces verbally and physically assaulted journalists outside the New Cairo Criminal Court hosting the Battle of the Camel case. They rejected the presence of the journalists inside the court hall and tried to bar them from entering.
