The High Court of Military Appeals decided to delay the case of Egyptian activist Mikel Nabil to October 11. Dozens of demonstrators rallied in front of the military prosecution, expressing their support for Nabil and others who were arrested on Friday during the demonstrations organized in front of Egypt's Ministry of Defense. The demonstrators criticized Egypt's ruling military council and refused military trials of civilians. The military troops arrested a member of the defense campaign of Mikel Nabil, Sahar Maher, while she was taking pictures of the protest. She was referred to military prosecution. A member of the ‘No military trials for civilians' group, Maha Mamoon, said the military council will not honor its promise to suspend prosecuting civilians in military trials without amending article no. 48 of the military judiciary. Nabil's brother, Mark Nabil, said Mikel suffers from bad health as he has been on a hunger strike for 43 days now.
