Thirty-two Islamic and secular political groups launched the popular initiative "Security, Bread, Freedom" to demand that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) adhere to the transition as scheduled. They also demanded the SCAF amend the treason law, deliver authority to an elected civil authority, amend the electoral law to accommodate political groups' demands, and the immediately cease military trials for civilians. The groups asked the SCAF to provide security for citizens, and requested the Ministry of Interior announce a clear plan to eliminate chaos and thugs without violating citizens' freedoms. They also demanded a short-term plan to revive the Egyptian economy, control prices, announce the minimum and maximum wages in two weeks, fulfill its promises and achieve the January 25 Revolution's goals.
