Former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency and likely presidential candidate Mohamed el-Baradei criticized the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces policy during the transition period. Baradei posted “Some people still think that no revolution took place in Egypt,” on the social networking site Twitter, pointing out that the electoral law and the recently-renewed emergency law contradict the will of political forces in Egypt. Baradei will begin a tour of Egypt's governorates, in which he will perform Friday prayers in his hometown Abyar in the Delta governorate of Gharbia. He said that he would not hold a press conference in Abyar, saying the visit's purpose is to visit relatives and friends.
