CAIRO: BENI SUEF, Egypt: Eleven men were arrested in the upper Egyptian governorate of Beni Suef for storming a preparatory school with the intention of raping students. The men, who were between 18 and 20 years old, broke into Alia Rushdy School and threatened the teachers who tried to defend the girls with knives and rods. Employees held back the thugs and called the police to arrest them. "I suddenly heard screams of teachers and students, and then I left my house to see what was going on,” said school principal Nahed el-Qanoni, who called police to secure the school. “I found teachers chasing the thugs who had shanks and rods but the teachers held them. I called the police and then they came to find the thugs detained in one of classes."
