The Administrative Judiciary Court, headed by vice president of the State Council Justice Abdul Majid al-Moqanen, decided to refer a case that would ban members of the National Democratic Party from leadership positions for five years to the Plenipotentiary Authority to prepare a legal opinion. Salah Hasballah filed a lawsuit for Dr. Khaled Samir, Coordinator of the Independent University Movement at Ain Shams University, against the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to dismiss all former NDP members from their positions for a period of five years. The suit states that NDP members were keen to maintain power and sought to weaken other political forces, and would extend their power through leadership positions to foment sedition, public false news, and engage in counterrevolution.
