CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf held a private meeting with Minister of Education Ahmed Gamal el-Din before the Council of Ministers' meeting this morning. Sharaf insisted on holding the meeting to be aware of the latest developments regarding teachers' strike and how it can be solved. El-Din presented a detailed report to Sharaf about the strike. Egypt's Ministry of Education issued a report yesterday saying the strike had only affected 2.88 percent of state schools. The independent Teachers Syndicate, however, has claimed the rate is higher.
