CAIRO: The Egyptian Ministry of Health took all required measures to prevent shortage of medical drugs, said the assistant of the Minister of Health, Ayman el-Khateeb. The ministry sent all pharmaceutical corporations notifications to provide the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs with all information about the shortage of medical drugs in order to push the Ministry fills this gap of drugs as fast as possible. The ministry also ordered the directorates of health affairs over Egypt to make an inventory of medical drugs. Before meeting the shortage of any kind of drug, the directorates should inform the assistant of the Minister of Health. El-Khateeb highlighted the ministry's keenness to provide drugs for patients so there should be alternatives of drugs especially during the transitional period in Egypt. He noted there is an international crisis of shortage of drugs according to the international statistics conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
