The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Lutfi Kamal, accompanied the Minister of International Cooperation, Fayza Aboul Naga, and will open Port Said International Airport next Monday after the renovation processes that cost 40 million EGP (U.S. $6.7 million), 30 million (U.S. $5.03 million) of which were spent developing the navigation aids' net and get them connected by satellites. Ten million EGP (U.S. $1.7 million) were spent elevating efficiency of the airport's building and services. Flights to Cairo are scheduled for Sundays and Thursdays. Flights for pilgrimage will be organized for Canal region's residents from the airport; interior and exterior tourist flights will be also organized for residents. The airport is expected to achieve a developmental renaissance for the governorate, in sectors of tourism, trade and industry. The city of Portsaid's port will be the development trailer in all of Egypt.
