CAIRO: Confusion and chaos ensued today in Tahrir Square where over 4,000 protestors took part in “Friday of No Emergency Powers.” The Square suffered traffic problems, particularly after Qasr el-Einy Street and Mohamed Mahmoud Street were reopened. There were also scattered clashes between vendors and protestors during arguments over the emergency law. National committees participated and distributed banners reading, “No to Emergency Law.” “Because of the small number of demonstrators, the Square wasn't secured,” said Mohamed Desouky, the general coordinator of the National Committees.
