CAIRO: Egypt's Revolution Youth Coalition is calling for a protest on Friday in Cairo's Tahrir Square and in other main squares across the country. They raised the slogan, ‘No Emergency Law' and warned the military council of a new revolution. The call comes after Egypt's ruling military council announced last night that the Emergency Law would not be appealed in Egypt until June 2012, citing recent incidents in Egypt – which the council called “terrorist” acts – as the reason. In a statement today the youth coalition said it refuses the military council's reforms to the Emergency Law, asked for deadline to turn over power to a civilian authority, and refused the use of recent events to distort the image of the January 25 Revolution and the use of Emergency Law to destroy the revolution. Hammad al-Kashef, member of executive office of the Revolution Youth Coalition, assigned responsibility of last Friday's incidents at the Israeli embassy to the military council and the Egyptian government. Dr. Haitham Khateeb, a member of the executive office, said the military council's ruling system is suspicious. “The recent reform of the Emergency Law aims to frighten citizens and stop the revolution's achievements,” said Khateeb. Khateem also said these policies are similar to the former regime's system of dealing with crises. The union said through the statement that the main reason for national anger is the absence of a suitable reaction when Egyptian soldiers were killed on the border by Israeli forces last month.
