A lawsuit is calling to shut down Syrian satellite channels broadcast on Egypt's NileSat that are in favor of leader Bashar al-Assad. Egypt's Administrative Judiciary Court, headed by Judge Hamdi Yassin Okasha, Vice President of the State Council, has postponed the lawsuit filed by a number of Syrians. The lawsuit asks the court to compel Egypt's Minister of Information to stop broadcasting all channels run by Assad's regime on Egypt's NileSat as of October 1. The plaintiffs filed the case on the grounds that the channels are disseminating false information about the Syrian uprising and the regime. On July 12, the court issued a ruling to stop broadcasting 14 channels supporting Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi.
