Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today announced that Israeli and Egyptian officials are holding intense diplomatic negotiations designed to facilitate the return of Israeli Ambassador, Yitzhak Levanon, and other embassy staffers to Egypt. Egyptian protestors besieged the Israeli embassy early Saturday morning, forcing the ambassador and over 80 staffers to flee to Tel Aviv aboard an Israeli air force plane. Netanyahu praised those in Egypt who support the Camp David peace treaty, reported Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz. Tel Aviv encourages the fight of terrorism around the world, said Netanyahu on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks in the United States. “The most dangerous threat in the world is Islamic terrorists acquiring weapons of mass destruction,” said Netanyahu.
