CAIRO: A group of Egyptian flight attendants called for a protest before Egyptian Radio and Television Headquarters (Maspiro) demanding the right to wear the Islamic headscarf (“Hijab”) on EgyptAir flights. Maysa Abdel Hady, who called for the demonstration, said the protestors asked EgyptAir to allow the Hejab for flight attendants as land crews are allowed to wear the headscarf, but the company said flight attendants must adhere to the uniform that does not include a headscarf. She added that the protest would begin after noon prayer, pointing out if their demands are not met the flight attendants will file a lawsuit against the company.
