CAIRO: Post-January 25 Revolution Egypt is heading toward a system of democracy based on free elections and transparency, reported Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel. “What will guarantee pluralism is the peaceful transfer of authority,” he added. “Egypt will be delivered within the framework of the current transitional operation to a civil president elected through fair balloting,” Kamel said during his speech at the Second Forum of the UN Secretary-General's meeting of Special Representatives and International African Envoys. The minister also urged others to initiate cooperation with international partners to support peace and security efforts in the African continent and develop institutional structures in relevant countries. If sincere support is provided, change will be for the benefit of the African people, said the minister. “Change without the imposition of foreign ideology suits the national needs of African countries,” he added.
