The Swiss embassy in Cairo announced its ignorance to the committee of money retrieval, formed by the Egyptian council of ministries and headed by Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. Sharaf gave this committee extensive powers to negotiate with the Swiss government over the retrieval of Egypt's smuggled money. The Swiss embassy ensured in a report that negotiations cannot be about issues powered by the Swiss Judiciary and the procedure of money retrieval starts with final judgments against the depositors. The Swiss law concerning the retrieval of illegal assets entered the executive phase in February 2011 as an alternative to the law of judiciary cooperation in criminal affairs. So far, Egypt succeeded in fulfilling all requirements of the issues concerning cooperation with Switzerland. It is important to mention Egyptian efforts to retrieve frozen assets and money in Switzerland are returned through Swiss Parliament law. This law allows the Swiss government to negotiate with other countries about how to return the illegal money now existing in Swiss banks without waiting to issue judgments against people's frozen accounts.
