Tahrir Square witnessed a calm atmosphere not seen since before the protest movement on the second day of the Eid al-Fitr feast as Egyptian families visited the square, taking photos beside tanks and the military deployed in the square. Many families also visited the Egyptian Museum Block away Talaat Harb Square hosted a large security presence, as did Ramsis Square as police continue a crackdown on street vendors. Eid el-Fitr is the three-day feast that follows the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims are obligated to fast.
