Links: Muslim Brotherhood, April 6 Youth Movement, Democratic Front Party, Revolution Youth Coalition The April 6 Youth Movement and Abdel Fetouh's campaign as well as other political movements today accused the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) of tearing down electoral placards and banning others from distributing placards in some governorates during Eid el-Fitr. The MB flatly denied these accusations, claiming that it was an attempt to drive a wedge between the MB and other political forces. Members of the electoral campaign for Abdel Fetouh, however, unequivocally claim that its members were personally attacked by members of the MB. “I was angry after watching what happened in some governorates; members of the MB attacked some activists in the Fetouh campaign and tore down their placards,” said el-Shahawy in his statement. El-Shahawy claims that these incidents occurred in the main yard in Minya governorate and several villages in the Gharbia governorate. The Democratic Front Party, the Coalition of the Revolution's Youth and the April 6 Youth Movement today published a video on the internet showing people tearing down electoral placards in the Asyut governorate. A statement was also released today by political movements accusing the MB of violence and disrespectful behavior toward other political parties. The statement threatened to take legal action to confront the MB's alleged plan to control the parliamentary elections. “These aren't our attitudes or behaviors, and this is an attempt to cause strife between us and other political forces,” said Rashad el-Bayioumy, the deputy general guide of the MB.
