The spokesman of Israeli Kenesset, Reuben Raflan, said the Parliament will impede the approval of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Minister of Defense, Ehud Barack, to increase the Egyptian troops and military mechanisms in Sinai. He claimed such a decision poses a threat to Israel's national security and a violation of the Camp David peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel in the American resort of Camp David in 1979. He added the decision should be approved and ratified by the Israeli Kenesset before being implementing since it is a strategic decision and related to Israeli security. He said they will study the decision well before allowing Egyptian soldiers and their military equipments to enter Sinai. The Israeli newspaper, Haartez, said the Israeli government primarily accepted the increase of Egyptian troops in Sinai to prevent any possible terrorist attacks against Israel.
