The supreme body of Al-Wafd Party agreed during the last meeting to adopt an initial 15 million EGP (U.S. $2.5 million) budget for the election campaign of party candidates during the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to a member of the supreme body of Al-Wafd Party, Essam Shiha. The Democratic Alliance will hold a meeting on Saturday to discuss the rates of candidates of each party in the joint list for the elections, Shiha told Youm7 in a special statement. "I expect only the percentage of any political party, whatever it may be, to reach 30 percent of candidates on their list to succeed." He explained coalition intends to open the way for all parties to participate in light of the constitutional principles and the document permitting this will soon be issued by the Council of Ministers. At the last meeting of the supreme body of Al-Wafd Party, they approved the document of basic principles of the Constitution of the modern Egyptian state. It was prepared by the Deputy Prime Minister, Ali el-Selmi. They also approved a similar document prepared by Al-Azhar and the democratic coalition.
