CAIRO: The Egyptian government is waiting to begin a joint investigation with Israel into the killing of five Egyptian soldiers by the Israeli military, said the Egyptian cabinet. The cabinet added that there is limited time to start the investigation in order to revive the Middle East peace process, which requires deescalating tensions in the region, stopping recurring attacks on Palestinians and giving them the right for an independent state. Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Kamel Amr submitted Prime Minister Essam Sharaf a report on Egyptian-Israeli relations and the repercussions of borders incidents in Sinai, in which he pointed out the Israeli apology.
