Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf today met representatives from the Revolution Youth, members of the political movements protesting outside the Israeli embassy in Cairo and Ahmed Shahat, the so-called “Flagman” who scaled the embassy building in Giza and replaced the Israeli Star of David flag with an Egyptian flag. Sharaf discussed the ongoing discussions between Israeli and Egyptian officials, including the investigation about recent border incidents that left several Egyptian security personnel dead. Essam also underlined Egypt's ongoing support of Palestinian. Israeli forces killed and injured Egyptian soldiers on the Egyptian–Israeli border during a mission to capture terrorists allegedly involved in attacks on civilians in the Israeli Red Sea town of Eilat.
