CAIRO: Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's ruling military council, met the new U.S. Ambassador to Cairo, Anne Patterson, this morning at the military council headquarters. They discussed common issues and ways to support relationships between Egypt and the U.S. Tantawi also accepted the appointment of 10 new ambassadors to Egypt today. They are: • Mohamed Habib Doutoum, ambassador of the Republic of Chad; • Nolotando Maindy Sibiya, ambassador of the Republic of South Africa; • Agustin Espinosa Aoberas, ambassador of the Republic of Uruguay; • James Wilfrid Watt, ambassador of the United Kingdom, Carmen Vanessa • Riera Bernards, ambassador of the Republic of Panama; • Alexander H.N. Wallace III, ambassador of the Republic of Liberia; • Omar Jibril Salah, ambassador of Republic of Gambia; • Kamal al-Din Hassan, ambassador of the Republic of Sudan; • Anne Patterson, ambassador of the United States of America; and • Eros Jaspirony, ambassador to the Republic of San Marino. Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr and members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces attended the ceremonies and the meeting with the U.S. Ambassador.
