CAIRO: The Egyptian Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, said the government is studying the needed legislation to solve the land ownership dilemma in Sinai. The Egyptian government is drafting uniform acts for land usage and comprehensive development in Sinai, in coordination with different ministries. Sharaf discussed the security situation in Sinai and studied procedures needed to realize stability and calm in Sinai, during the meeting held by Sinai development committee. It was agreed the police efficiency should be raised in Sheikh Zowaid and Rafah in coordination with military forces. Security reinforcements were sent to Sinai to secure Sheikh Zowaid and Rafah and provide comprehensive security for the cities in Sinai, said the Egyptian Minister of Interior, Mansour el-Issawi. The Minister of Higher Education, Mutaz Khorshid, said new procedures will be taken to facilitate chances for Sinai youth to join different universities. The Minister of International Cooperation, Fayza Aboul Naga, said three projects will be financed in Sinai and create more than 10,000 sustainable job opportunities and 400 temporary job opportunities with the investment of 268 million EGP (U.S. $). The meeting also discussed the demands of Sinai residents to release those arrested from the governorate's sons, creating job opportunities, providing services and developing the city of Arish. A draft resolution was suggested to establish governmental universities in Sinai.
