CAIRO: The Egyptian Supreme Council of Energy chaired by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf today discussed a price equation designed to earn the best return on Egypt's valuable energy resources. Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis previewed the development process – a method by which power plants are combined. “The meeting tackled issues like the support of energy and research, and the usage of new resources that ease the burden on Egypt's balance sheet,” said Cabinet spokesman Mohammad Hegazy. “The meeting also included discussions on the latest developments in price fluctuations of Egyptian exported gas, signed contracts, and the pricing of electric power, gas, and oil,” said Hegazy. Sharaf insists on fostering an economic atmosphere that would encourage international oil and gas companies to invest in Egypt as well as the enactment of a national development plan for alternative energy sources.
