Dr. Saad Katatni, Secretary of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party, stressed the importance of the repercussions of the meeting of the Democratic Coalition for Egypt, held on Sunday in the headquarters of the Freedom and Justice Party in Cairo. Katatni said the participants emphasized their desire to counter the attempts of the remnants of the dissolved National Democratic Party to join the electoral lists of the parties of the coalition. In a press statement, Katatni said about 34 political parties met and announced that there is no need for supra-constitutional principles or a new constitutional declaration. He added that the coalition insists on the document of constitutional principles which it issued before. They also discussed documents issued by other parties and political powers, including al-Azhar's document. Katatni added that the Democratic Coalition for Egypt confirmed, during the meeting, that there is no contradiction between the different documents issued by the different national and political powers. He said that the coalition formed a committee aiming to achieving coordination among its parties during the next parliamentary elections.
