The High Council of Journalists created an opinion poll on Facebook titled, “Journalists … Crisis of Laws and Syndicate,” earlier this month asking for opinions and visions of the future. The poll proved that journalists do not have a unified vision, said an admin on the site. Of the 365 journalists called to participate, only 82 reporters voiced an opinion, representing 1.2 percent of the total Journalists General Assembly, the admin added. Thirty-nine percent of the participants voiced full support for the Journalists' Council, while 42 percent demanded its dissolution by transferring full authority to the Syndicate of Journalists, the admin said. He added that 18 percent called for mixed authority from both the Council and the Syndicate. Most of those in favor of maintaining and developing the Council were between 30- and 50-years-old and those in favor of its dissolution were between 40- and 60-years-old.
