Security forces succeeded in breaking the blockade, which lasted for three days, on the El-Kremat power station in Helwan desert. Workers were prevented from entering and going out of the station. The armed protestors threatened to kidnap the heads of the company if they were not given jobs in the station. The president of Upper Egyptian Company for production of electricity, Abdul Mohsen Abdul Ghaffar, said work in the station returned to normal this morning. High-level sources at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy told Youm7 the Minister of Electricity, Hassan Younis, promised he would employ 30 people to overcome the crisis. But the protestors refused and insisted on the appointment of 1,000 workers, which was rejected by the company because they do not require that large amount of workers.
