Egyptians represent positivity for the Palestinian reconciliation, said vice president of Hamas' political office, Moussa Abou Marzouk. He added Egypt works to bridge the gap of differences between the Palestinian factions. "There will not be a Palestinian track without Egypt, which is the cornerstone for protecting Arab rights," Marzouk said. The Palestinian official said there are many Egyptian authorities dealing with the Palestinian case, such as State Security, which changed after the Egyptian revolution. This assured Palestinians of Egypt's seriousness in dealing with the reconciliation issue. Abou Marzouk added Egypt dealt with Hamas during the former regime as an extension for the Islamic resistance movement and the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). He said there is a big difference between Hamas' vision and the former Egyptian regime about dealing with the Palestinian issue as whole. He clarified Hamas believes resistance is the only way to restore Palestinian territories while Mubarak's regime recognized the Zionist entity and worked to restore the Palestinian rights through peaceful negotiations and delaying the choice of resistance. Abou Marzouk added Egypt's former regime didn't believe Hamas was qualified to work as a partner in making decisions for Palestinian or creating Palestine's future. Hamas' role, in Egypt's vision, was limited to help and stimulate the Palestinian Authority. About Rafah crossing, Abou Marzouk said the Rafah border crossing is the only gate for residents of the Gaza Strip. He praised the developments that took place in dealing with the crossing after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. But Abou Marzouk stressed there are exceptions in dealing with the Palestinians who cross the border. About the current controversy about who will take office as Palestinian Prime Minister, Abou Marzouk said according with Fatah is not limited to one person. He clarified the reconciliation shouldn't be suspended because of difference about one person. He said both sides should accept the person who will take the post of Palestinian Prime Minister. Abou Marzouk praised the relations between al Palestinians and between the Syrian people and regime. He said the Syrian current regime is one of the important regimes that support the resistance. He said they refuse to interfere in the Syrian affairs since the Palestinians always bear the responsibility of such interferences.
