CAIRO: The court does not have the right to summon an officer from the Armed Forces without informing the military prosecution, according to an Egyptian security expert, Sameh Seif al-Yazel. He said summoning the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Hussein Tantawi, for testimony requires permission first from the military prosecution. He stressed the Armed Forces has no relations with cutting off communications and Internet services during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. The Armed Forces' role is limited to granting licenses to communications networks to prevent interference in wireless networks, al-Yazel added in a phone call with ‘Al-Hayat Al-Youm' evening talk show.
