RAFAH, Egypt: A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo today to attend a meeting with Fatah tomorrow, Sunday, according to a source at the Rafah border crossing. The course said the Hamas delegation is headed by Khalil al-Haya, a member of Hamas' political office and head of its parliamentary bloc. The delegation included three other people. The Palestinian factions are meeting in Cairo to discuss implementation of the Palestinian National Reconciliation, which was sponsored by the Egyptian government. The meeting is expected to focus on the issues of Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees, confronting Israeli settlements in the West Bank, the Palestinian Liberation Organization, prisoners, resolving issues of the Palestinian split, and other issues related to reconciliation. A Palestinian reconciliation deal was brokered in Cairo earlier this year after a popular uprising toppled Egypt's 30-year president, long considered an ally of Israel.
