Shias Muslims in Egypt refuse broadcasting the historic series al-Hassan and al-Hussien, said Egypt's Shia activist, Al-Taher al-Hashemyn. He praised Al-Azhar's decisions and Shia scholar, Ayat Allah Abass al-Kaaby's, opinion of refusing presentation of the series as it would lead to sedition between Muslims. He threatened if the series is not suspended, he would open the historical files of the families and the companions of Prophet Mohamed and present their history through international news agencies. He also threatened to file a case against the producers of the series. He demanded the authors and intellectuals in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran and the Gulf states, to suspend the series and take the action as he will if their demands aren't met. It's important to mention the series discusses the historic period of al-Hassan and al-Hussien neutrally without any bias to Shia.
