8:00 – Hundreds of people are gathered outside the Police Academy in Cairo's Fifth Settlement ahead of ousted President Hosni Mubarak's trial. Police also surround the building.
8:25 – Clashes break out between pro- and anti-Mubarak groups.
9:05 – Helicopter lands at the Police Academy. Anti-Mubarak groups chant, “Here is the theif!”
9:40 – Reports of continued clashes between pro- and anti-Mubarak groups outside the Police Academy.
10:00 - Defendants enter the cage in thr courtroom. Mubarak is wheeled into the cage lying on a hospital bed. His sons stand nearby.
10:03 - Judges enter the courtroom, and the head judge introduces the session.
10:15 – Judge continues to take roll. Asks all legal representatives to register their names.
10:20 – Representative for the 7th accused asks to correct the name of the accused.
10:25 – Human rights representative requests the head judge to allow members of the victims' families who received prior permission to attend the trial into the courtroom. The judge ignores the request.
10:40 - Interior Minister Habib al-Adly's lawyers say they will prove al-Adly had nothing to do with the killing of protesters.
10:45 - Mubarak's lawyer questions fairness of combining trials of Mubarak and al-Adly
11:00 - Defense lawyer asks prosecution to provide minutes of Jan. 22 cabinet meeting, claims investigations were lacking.
11:10 - Al-Jazeera English reporter Sherine Tadros reports that a police officer has been hit by a stone outside the Police Academy and is injured.
Clashes continue between pro- and anti-Mubarak groups.
11:25 - Trial is taking a break.
11:40 - Trial is resumed.
11:45 - Lawyers of the victims are presenting demands to the court.
11:48 - Lawyer of one of the victims raises two demands: allowing the families of the victims into the court and moving Mubarak to Torah Prison, where the other defendants are all held.
11:50 - The official prosecutor reads out the charges against Mubarak and the other defendants.
11:55 - Prosecutor says Mubarak accepted 5 villas for himself and his sons in return for facilitating land acquisitions in South Sinai.
12:00 - Mubarak and his sons Alaa and Gamal deny all charges against them.
12:14 - '#MubarakTrial' is trending on Twitter.
12:17 - One lawyer said Mubarak and sons never had a criminal file created, pulled out ink pad and demanded they be fingerprinted.
12:45 - Trial recess.
13:00 - Trial resumes.
13:55 - Judge says Mubarak will be admitted to a hospital on the Cairo-Ismalia road where his health will be monitored.
14:00 - Session recessed. Head judge says al-Adly trial will continue tomorrow, Mubarak trial will continue August 15.
