CAIRO: Hamdeen Sabbahi, likely presidential candidate and head of the Nasserist al-Karama Party, calls for national harmony between protestors in Tahrir Square, political groups and presidential candidates. The initiative aims to determine specific priorities of the demands, discuss how the military council can achieve them and create a time table. Sabbahi asked for national forces and presidential candidates to agree on specific demands before this Friday. Sabbahi warned that Tahrir Square may turn into battle field of the revolution's partners. Sabbahi asked Islamic forces including the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) to delay, or change the place, of their 'Friday of Stability.' Sabbahi said the common demands of all protestors and political forces include speeding up the trails of former president Hosni Mubarak and his family, trialing those who were accused of killing the protestors of the January 25 Revolution, arresting all thugs and recorded criminals. Other demands include releasing protestors who were trialed by military courts, stopping the transfer of civilians to military courts, removing corruption from institutions particularly the media and the judiciary, and setting minimum and maximum wages, he added. The real problem is that the ruling military council is responding to the demands at a slower pace than what the people expect, said Sabbahi. According to Sabbahi, the strife that is happening between the army and the people is harming the revolution. Sabbahi refused using violence against protestors and said the people had the right to protest peacefully. He also said he is proud to be one of the founders of the Kefaya movement and asked for the ruling military council to provide the judge with evidence against the April 6 movement. Regarding his electoral program, Sabbahi said that Egypt's crisis requires unifying efforts in order for the program to pass.
