ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: The Democratic Civil Coalition decided to suspend the strike organized in Saad Zaghlool Square in Alexandria, said the spokesman of the coalition, Rashad Abdel Aal. He added this decision aims to pave the way for a new government to achieve revolution objectives. Abdel Aal added the remnants of the former regime and certain foreign countries aim to spark chaotic scenarios to cause problems in Egypt's security and stability. Abdel Aal said different political powers held a meeting in Sadd Zaghlool Square on Sunday, pointing out most political parties and movements accepted the suspension of the protest, such as Al-Wafd, Justice, Free Egyptians, Egyptian Communist, and Al-Ghad Parties. The Socialist Movement, el-Baradei's supporting campaign and the April 6 Movement refused suspension of the protest and decided to resume their strike until all their demands are met. Abdel Aal said the coalition respects and appreciates these movements' decision to go forth with the strike, despite the difference in vision.
