Egyptian railway drivers have renewed their protest and decided to close railroad traffic again. Hundreds of train drivers held a protest earlier today on the railroad tracks, stopping all traffic at Ramsis Station. The protest lasted for an hour. The train drivers were unsatisfied with the new bonus framework because it did not achieve justice between employees and their jobs, they said. They were also upset because the transportation authority did not care about the death of a train driver in an accident on the job. They also asked for hazard pay. Recently appointer Transportation Minister Ali Abdeen called the head of the transportation authority and approved the legitimacy of the drivers' demands, according to sources in the authority. Abdeen said he will discuss their demands. A delegation of drivers met the authority head to study the demands. Drivers allowed the railway traffic to resume its normal schedule after the developments. However, their problems were not solved during the meeting, so the drivers decided to renew their protest.
