SHARQEYA, Egypt: Security forces managed yesterday to seize nine different smuggled artifacts and 16,000 Libyan dinars (U.S. $13,237) with four people in one of the security checkpoints in governorate of Sharqeya. The items were impounded and kept. A record was written by police officers and the public prosecution was informed to start the investigation under the supervision of the Attorney-General of South Sharqeya's prosecutions, Tarek Abouzeid. The accused admitted their crimes and said they smuggle artifacts to take advantage of the current circumstances Egypt is witnessing. They also said they use CDs and cell phones to promote their prohibited trade. They added they were on their way to show the artifacts to some traders but they reveal where or to whom. Investigations are still under way to know more details.
