CAIRO: The price of rice will be stable after the last price increase, said Mostafa Alsltisi, a member of Egypt's division of rice. “A ton of barley reaches 3,000 EGP (U.S. $503) and a ton of white rice reaches 3,900 EGP (U.S. $655).” Alsltisi said Ramadan prices will not rise because the local harvest will take place on August 10. The Supply Commodities Authority imported 14,000 tons rice to stop its price from rising.
