CAIRO: The Union of Socialist Youth demanded transferring authority from the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) to the head of the High Constitutional Court (HCC) during Egypt's transitional phase, especially since the policies of the former regime have not yet been changed. The union said the revolution will continue until all of its objectives are achieved, especially social justice. They stressed the need of a political regime that expresses the poor in Egypt and get back land that has been stolen during the former regime by corruption. The union also demanded returning the companies and factories that have been privatized. The union also said it was insisting on its slogan "constitution comes first", clarifying that such objective will only be achieved if the revolution continues. The union also stressed that the new constitution should reflect the interests of the poor. The union drew a comparison between the current regime and the former one, clarifying that both of them ignored the poor who ignited the revolution. They added that the current regime is only focusing on those who spread corruption and stole Egypt's wealth. The union said that those who were part of the anti-revolution movement managed to keep their economic interests, going against the majority of the people. They criticized what they considered a continuation of the former regime's policies with regards to education, health, supporting exporters with four billion dollars annually and supporting five-star hotels with gas that Egyptian citizens cannot find. They also said that the current policies of the Ministry of Interior are the same policies adopted by the former regime.
