CAIRO: The Ministry of Antiquities has decided to open the Egyptian Museum tomorrow, despite a planned demonstration in neighboring Tahrir Square. “Egyptian protesters will protect the museum tomorrow,” said Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, general secretary of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. Archaeologists and workers will be in the museum tomorrow, but it will not be open for tourists. The day will be reserved for construction and maintenance. “All workers will be inside the museum tomorrow,” said Maqsoud. “The police and army will secure the museum, in addition to the protesters themselves.” “There is nothing to worry about,” he added.
