Dahshour will be made into an international tourist area to aid in developing Egypt's tourism, said Giza Governor Ali Abdel-Rahman. Tourims is one of Egypt's main sources of national income. The announcement came after UNESCO's decision to turn the area to an international heritage reserve after conducting an inclusive study to develop the area. Abdel-Rahman said the developmental project will be executed in cooperation with the General Authority for Tourist Development. He said the project will come in the framework of an inclusive plan, prepared by the governorate, to develop tourism that will in turn increase the governorate's income as well as national income. After his meeting with the executive leaders of the governorate, Abdel- Rahman said that his governorate cooperated with the Ministry of Tourism in executing a number of projects that aim to develop tourism. Such projects include lighting and paving the streets that lead to the touristic and archeological areas. Abdel-Rahman stressed the governorate's desire to increase investments for tourism by establishing hotels and touristic institutions, especially since Giza is considered one of the most important touristic governorates.
