CAIRO: Egypt's Interior Minister, Mansour al-Essawy, criticized how the media deals with the police institution. He refused to acknowledge there is a state of insecurity in Egypt. "We should deal with the events in the police stations of Saloom and al-Salam neutrally. There was an intense security presence in the street but Egyptians suffer from the problem of believing media," al-Essawy said. Al-Essawy assured the police didn't participate in the assault of the martyrs' families and says the assaults were from the security of the theatre. He made this claim on a phone call with ‘A New Page' TV program. The Minister expressed his frustration over what took place in al-Saloom and al-Salam, saying investigations have been conducted. He ordered to withdraw the security forces during recent events to avoid provoking the demonstrators.
