LUXOR, Egypt: A tourism activating festival started in Luxor. The opening ceremony was attended by the governor of Luxor, Khaled Foada, the General Secretary of the governorate, Alaa Harras, and the General Secretary Assistant, Ahmed Abd al-Aziz. The opening ceremony included folkloric arts, local flute tracks and a musical march along the corniche of the Nile. Children went around distributing flowers amongst the guests. This festival is an invitation to revive tourism in Luxor, said the governor. Most of the people in Luxor work in the tourism industry, and so tourism is vital for social and economic development, he added. The festival will last for four days.
