CAIRO: Dozens of protesters are arriving in Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square to participate in today's ‘Friday of Retaliation' demonstrations. Some revolution youth called for a crowded demonstration in Tahrir and in other main squares in every governorate after Tuesday night's clashes between citizens and Central Security Forces that lasted into Wednesday morning. The protestors are asking to achieve the revolution's demands, which include a quick trial for members of Egypt's former ruling regime, including former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly and former president Hosni Mubarak. The square is full of signs opposing any delay in the trials of symbols of the former regime and criticizing Egypt's Minister of Justice. The demonstrators are also demanding the resignation of Interior Minister Mansour el-Essawy after Tuesday night's events. In related news, traffic in Tahrir Square has stopped because of the increasing number of protesters and barricades they have placed to block Qasr al-Aini street. Many activists have likened Tueday night's events to those they witnessed on January 25 and 28.
