CAIRO: Egypt's Administrative Court decided to dissolve all the local councils, and committed the military council and the council of ministers to issue a resolution that will dissolve them. Ahmed al-Fadaly along with lawyers from the International Egyptian Center of lawyers, filed three cases in the Administrative Court that demanded dissolving the local councils. They said these councils came out of the former regime that spread corruption. They said the councils are controlled by members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP), and were formed by manipulated elections. They view dissolving the local councils as meeting one of the main demands of the January 25 Revolution, especially because these councils have strongly contributed in spreading corruption inside Egypt during the former regime. They also stressed the necessity of issuing a resolution to dissolve the local councils, just like the military council did with the People's Assembly and Shura Council after former President Hosni Mubarak's resignation.
